Kawasaki KLX230 S

Purpose-built for serious fun on the trails and tuned for on-road versatility, the KLX230 can take you to new adventures with dual-sport capability. Turn a variety of terrain into the ultimate playground. With an engine and chassis designed together to promote agility and weight savings, the KLX230 is always ready to get out and play.

Engine

Compact and lightweight 233Cc fuel injected 4-stroke engine delivers easy-to-use low- to mid-range torque while the simple yet capable two-valve SOHC low-maintenance design makes it ideal for trail riding.

Electric Start

Electric start and fuel injection ensure hassle-free starting regardless of altitude or air temperature, while contributing to clean emissions.

KX Inspired Frame

The compact perimeter frame, short wheelbase and a low seat height offer the handling needed for confident trail riding. The KLX230R offers a seat height of 925 mm vs. 900 mm on the KLX230R S.

A combination of form and function, the frame, seat and tank were designed to give riders an easier grip offering superior chassis control. Seams between the shrouds, seat and side covers are flush, which facilitates freedom of movement when changing riding positions.

Off-Road Suspension

Long travel suspension, featuring a ø37 mm front fork and Uni Trak single-shock rear suspension, soak up bumps with ease, contributing to rider comfort and control on rugged terrain.

ABS Disc Brakes

KX-style petal disc brakes front and rear add even more sure stopping power, with a twin-piston caliper gripping a ø240 mm disc in the front and a single-piston caliper gripping the ø220 mm disc in the rear.

The KLX230 S features an innovative dual-purpose ABS system jointly developed with Bosch. Designed to assist stopping performance on low-friction surfaces, the dual-purpose ABS will offer reassurance to both new and experienced riders.

Wheels

Full-size aluminum wheels measuring 21” in the front and 18” in the rear allow for confident riding and handling over varied terrain.

Aditional Features

A toolbox is located inside a lockable compartment under the left side cover. Both the ignition and side cover panel lock are operated with Kawasaki’s one-key system.
